Buzoor Theatre Association for Culture and Arts held the opening screening of the documentary film “Women Without Filters,” funded by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, in the presence of a notable gathering of women interested in the cultural and social scene.

The Association’s Executive Director, Ms. Wissam Al-Dairawi, emphasized that the film is not merely a cinematic documentation, but rather a genuine platform for amplifying women’s voices and highlighting their experiences with spontaneity and honesty, without any embellishment or “filters” that conceal reality. She also affirmed that at Buzoor Theatre Association, we believe that art is a living tool for expression and healing, and that projects such as this provide women with the full space to become the storytellers and decision-makers in presenting their issues and confronting societal challenges.

The Artistic Director of Buzoor Theatre Association, Dr. Manal Barakat, added that the artistic and human value of “Women Without Filters” lies in its ability to touch the audience emotionally while reflecting the psychological and social depth of its protagonists. The film relies on realism that breaks stereotypical molds and highlights women’s strength and resilience. This is precisely what committed theatre and art continually strive to establish as part of our cultural and artistic mission.
