“Mujawara for People” Holds the First Meeting of the Youth Committee in Deir al-Balah

Deir al-Balah – Gaza Strip

Buzoor Theatre Association for Culture and Arts held the first meeting of the Mujawara Youth Committee as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen youth participation in planning and implementing community activities, expand the role of young men and women in developing the community space, and contribute to its sustainability.

The meeting introduced the committee’s concept, objectives, and roles, while exploring mechanisms for youth participation in identifying community priorities, designing cultural, educational, artistic, and dialogue-based activities, and developing and implementing community initiatives.

The Mujawara Youth Committee serves as a framework for youth participation, connecting the community space with the people of Deir al-Balah. It provides young men and women with opportunities to contribute to planning and decision-making related to activities and programs, as well as to lead community initiatives and follow up on their implementation.

The committee also seeks to strengthen its members’ capacities in community facilitation, dialogue management, and initiative planning, while developing teamwork skills and a sense of social responsibility. These efforts aim to support youth participation in managing the community space and developing its activities sustainably over the long term.
