The Second Meeting on the Mujawara Journey in Deir al-Balah
The Second Meeting on the Mujawara Journey in Deir al-Balah
When adolescent girls come to Mujawara, they bring with them a different way of seeing what is happening around us.nToday, Mujawara was a space for them.nnWe met with a group of adolescent girls in Deir al-Balah and listened to stories from their everyday lives, hearing their perspectives on relationships, the places they inhabit, and the society around them.nnMujawara for Adolescent Girls begins with everyday experiences, recognizing them as a source of knowledge and dialogue. Through storytelling, questions and issues rooted in real life emerge, revealing different perspectives on understanding what is happening in the surrounding environment.nnIn the upcoming sessions, these stories will grow through dialogue, common questions and shared concerns will begin to emerge, and new ideas will take shape around what the girls can do together.nnThe first meeting marked the beginning of a journey of listening and getting to know the girls' world through what they chose to share. It also marked the beginning of a process whose meaning will unfold through what emerges and develops among them over the course of the sessions.nnThis is where Mujawara begins: with a story, with a question, and with people's ability to see what is happening around them and shape what they can do together.
